In Year 5 of Primary Education we have played a game called “Nosy neighbours” in which the students had to ask and answer questions about the inhabitants of a fictitious street to discover what was happening in house number 5. The students had a load of fun and finally found out that the people at number 5 were having a party.

Learning through games enhances the mastery of the concepts worked on and increases their motivation to learn. In fact, motivation and interest are two factors that strengthen the involvement of students in their own learning.

With “Nosy neighbours” we reinforce vocabulary and pronunciation while working on social competence. Likewise, the game encourages the improvement of listening and attention, key elements that allow them to learn from each other, while having fun and innovating.

The game and the opportunity to actively participate in their learning reinforces their creative skills, thus favoring their process of inquiry and developing their own tools to face new challenges.
