Drama Club (Teatro en Inglés) has started up again at lunchtime at Luyferivas.
This year sees the beginning of a new drama teacher on Mondays and Wednesdays, Amber Fawn.  Meanwhile Lisa Kurrein continues to run the Tuesday and Thursday group.

Theatre and acting provide important skill development for children and can help them to overcome their shyness and stage fright.  The students gain self-confidence and learn the importance of teamwork.  And throughout it all they are improving their English!

In Drama Club, the children learn breathing exercises and voice projection to help them to speak more loudly.  They do a variety of drama games to help with group cohesion and teamwork.  Students also learn what goes on backstage as they do the curtain calls, the lighting and the set changes.  The children paint the backdrop themselves and participate in the stage design for the shows.  As they gain confidence the students take on an ever more active roll in developing their character.  Some of the children even try out their hand at being director for a day!

Both groups are busy getting started with their Christmas plays.  This year the children will be performing Twas the Night Before Christmas and Frosty the Snowman.  The shows will take place in December so watch out for the dates and come see our little actors shine!
