ART Exhibition 3rd to 5th Grade

How might we transform an unhealthy school lunch into a nutritious one?

This Discovery question was presented to 4th-grade students during our final term project. Inspired by the Art book theme, the project evolved to encourage creativity and innovative thinking. The students engaged in group discussions, analyzing presentations of various meals, identifying health aspects, and exploring ways to modify choices for improved nutrition.

Every group was tasked with crafting a menu and subsequently visiting the classroom shop we arranged to procure materials for their meal creation. The students delighted in this activity, producing remarkable pieces of artwork in the process.

In the 3rd grade, students embarked on a collaborative mural project centered around the theme of world hunger. They chose various types of food to represent different letters and utilized paper, tissue paper, and pom poms to craft a visually striking piece of artwork.

Lastly, in 5th grade, students concentrated on utilizing recycled materials to sculpt sea creatures endangered by human consumption and plastic waste. Additionally, they crafted thought- provoking placards reminiscent of those seen in climate protests.

We hope you enjoy our Exhibition located in the Infants Foyer next to Marta the nurse!!
