London has been for many centuries the centre of the world, the movement of peoples and products,  the  model for other civilizations as well as a set example for the integration of different realities. Since approximately the 1600s, we have been attending at the creation of a worldwide empire.

In this 21st century London has grown into one of the most powerful and dynamic cities on earth. London is  a global cultural megalopolis. With 33 boroughs established in nine different zones,  where the tourist can find museums, pubs, clubs, design galleries, theaters,…

London is the sixth richest city on the planet. It has grown rapidly since the Nineties, with a population that is close to 9 million in 2019. In 2014 around 17 visitors came to this city, making of London the city with more international tourists in the world.

London has also become an international capital, with around one-third of its current population been born overseas. This makes London be the city where more than 300 different languages are spoken, outstanding when compared with other cities in the World.

Like Rome, Athens and Carthage back in history, London is nowadays the hub of this modern  civilization, a megacity that wisely combines a City Centre crammed with high skyscrapers and surrounding areas full of historical buildings. London started being a  Roman creation, Londinium, and some of the main axes of the city, such as Oxford Street, are still part of the modern city.

After the Great Fire of 1666, four-fifths of the city were destroyed. Lots of historical buildings dating back to the Tudor and early 17th Century were burnt down to their ashes. There are only  a few small areas of those that still survive, protected and standing for the visitor to see.

As for the enjoyment, London also stands out with some of the best and most complete collections in the world. The British Museum, the National Gallery, the Science Museum, the Tate Gallery, Victoria and Albert Museum and the Natural History Museum are just some of those museums that are open to the visitor, free entrance, and comprising a great deal of the most outstanding pieces of art of the planet.
