A funny game to review vocabulary not only for the smaller, but also for teenagers.

“The Line” consists in dividing the class into two teams as they are sitting. Then, we also separate the blackboard into two squares (one per team) and we give them a chalk.

By turns, they write one word and come back to their seats. The next word must start with the last letter of the word written just before.

The length of the game depends on the size of the vocabulary list or the time we want to spend playing, but 2 or 3 minutes are enough.

When time is over, we add the total of points and the team that gets more points, wins. The victory can be reinforced positively by giving them a reward ir order to strength the fact of knowing the vocabulary.

The points are divided in this way:

+5 if they write words related to the vocabulary of the unit.

+2 if they write words that are correct but not related to the words they have already learnt.

-1 if words are misspelled.

To conclude, the main aims of vocabulary games are to introduce students with new words or phrases and help them consolidate them. In addition, if they can enjoy while learning, it will be better.
